TN Donor Services

Tennessee Donor Services (TDS), a Division of DCI Donor Services, is the nonprofit, federally designated transplant donor network serving nearly five and a half million people in Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia and Kentucky. TDS is committed to saving and improving lives by connecting one life to another through donation and transplantation. Because most people have two kidneys, it is possible to be a living kidney donor. For those diagnosed with stage five kidney disease, either dialysis or a kidney transplant is necessary for survival. TDS strives to connect patients with new, healthy kidneys (or other organs depending on one’s condition and needs) in order to improve and extend their lives. Organ and tissue donation saves lives; please consider giving the greatest gift of all, the Gift of Life. TDS holds the record for Largest Corporate Team at the ETKF’s Lucky Kidney Run™™ in 2015 with 127 members!

UT Medical Center

The University of Tennessee Medical Center’s Center for Transplant Services is home to the only kidney transplant program in East Tennessee. We are a leading provider of organ transplantation in our region, and we have given thousands of people new hope and longer life since our first successful kidney transplant in 1985.

Premier Surgical Associates

Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, Premier Surgical Associates is the region’s largest vascular and general surgical group, performing general, vascular, bariatric, breast and laparoscopic procedures. Premier has a large presence in East Tennessee, with offices in Knoxville, Alcoa, Crossville, Dandridge, Lenoir City, Morristown and Sevierville. Vascular surgeons create a vascular access for patients whom will be starting dialysis soon. A vascular access is a surgically created vein used to remove and return blood during hemodialysis. When necessary, surgeons also reconstruct collapsed accesses and perform other procedures relating to preparation of the veins and arteries for dialysis.

University Nephrology

University Nephrology has a large presence in East Tennessee, caring for many of the region’s population living with kidney disease. “In the U.S. News & World Report’s 2016-2017 “Best Hospitals” edition, the UTMCK is ranked No. 2 in the state of Tennessee and Best Regional Hospital in the Eastern Tennessee region, based on patient care performance and other key factors. In the report, UTMCK earned national recognition for being High Performing in Nephrology.” University Nephrology has also achieved local recognition at ETKF’s annual Lucky Kidney Run™, winning trophies for the Fastest Team and multiple medals for top finishers in the individual divisions!

AVERITT EXPRESS

In 1958, Thurman Averitt founded Livingston Merchant’s Co-op, a small trucking company that hauled dry goods mostly between Nashville, TN and Livingston, TN. In 1969, Thurman incorporated his small company and called it Averitt Express. While making regular deliveries in Nashville, Thurman became acquainted with a young dockworker who helped him unload his trailer. This young man’s name was Gary Sasser. Gary happened to ask Thurman one day if he would be interested in selling his company. After some thought, Thurman said yes. In October of 1971, Gary Sasser, at the age of 21, purchased Averitt Express, which at the time consisted of two associates, three tractors and five trailers. Today, Averitt Express is one of the nation’s leading freight transportation and supply chain management providers.

KENJO MARKETS

KenJo Markets supported the ETKF even before its inception, and ensured ETKF would be an independent and self-sustaining nonprofit organization, and continues to be ETKF’s largest supporter. Every year KenJo Markets sells coupon books, starting in late spring through summer, which include great deals inside KenJo Markets and select Buddy’s Bar-B-Q restaurants. KenJo donates the proceeds of the coupon book sales to ETKF. In 2017, KenJo generously donated $45,000 to ETKF. The ETKF is very grateful to KenJo Markets for its overwhelming generosity year after year. Be sure to visit your closest KenJo Market for your fuel needs, snacks, drinks and their famous Grandaddy Sub Sandwiches!

Dialysis Clinic, Incorporated

Some people would say that DCI began when the doors to the first clinic were opened. Some would also say that’s starting in the middle. The true beginning lies in the heartbreaks and successes of early dialysis.
